WATER PRACTICES

PRACTICE DATES: TBA for 2023. More info to follow.

You can practice exercises for Junior Certificate or Apprentice, Working, Courier or Master levels. If you are not ready to trial, these sessions can help your dog become more familiar with the water and practice some basic skills.

We will have boats and request that everyone volunteer to help; you just need your equipment, life jacket and dog!

Please try to be there by 8:30 so we can get the site set up and be ready to roll by 9. The sooner we get going...the more practice time everyone gets in. If you are late getting there, you may not get into the first round of the running order. Those that help set up are given priority.
We will set up a running order in the morning and it is your responsibility to pay attention and be ready when your turn comes around. Running order is listed out first come/first serve. You need to be there to sign up. To maximize your time, have a plan about what you want to work on.
Folks who have more than one dog can put one dog at a time in the running order then do next dog in next round, etc. That is only fair to those that don't have multiple dogs.
Everyone is expected to pitch in to steward for other teams so the same people don't get "stuck" helping all day.
This is a practice, not a camp, so there will be no formal instruction. Again, it is wise to come with a plan on what you need to work on. There will be plenty of experienced folk there who can offer advice or suggestions. Everyone is expected to pitch in to help with boat rowing, setting up, etc. We will have 2 practice areas set up: one more formal and one for practicing skills.
Keep in mind there is no running water or electricity there so bring water, snacks, lunch, etc. for yourself and your dog.
Don't forget the bug spray.

New for 2022:

The pavilion will not be available for crating.
Please be sure to bring adequate shade, water, etc. and be prepared to work out of your vehicle.
Practices will be held rain or shine. NO REFUNDS.

Confirmed practice dates are: 6/25 & 26 and 7/23 &24. Practices are dependent on participation of a minimum of 10 teams.

Prepay club member cost: $40/day for a single dog; additional dogs are $20 each. You need to be a current member in order to sign up for practices.
