Courier in the Kitchen 2018

posted Sep 30, 2018, 7:23 PM by Chris Dostie

Courier in the Kitchen

When:  Sunday, December 2, 2018 from 9-4

Where:  It’s A Dog’s World, York, Maine

What:  A jump start indoor workshop to give teams a laundry list of things to work on over the winter to prepare for the Courier level.  We will go soup to nuts through behaviors and skill sets needed to be a successful Courier team.  We will focus on games to help build drive and confidence as well as going through the steps on how to move it all outside and eventually to the water.  We will work on trouble shooting any areas that teams are “stuck” on.

So that we can pack as much Courier work as possible into the day, this workshop will have some prerequisites:

*Dogs should be able to retrieve both live and “dead” retrieves; (they don’t need to be perfect!)

*Dogs should have at least a basic understanding of “go marker” and some basic obedience (sit, stay, come J)

Instructors:  Kathan Kennedy & Chris Dostie

Cost: $75 for working team; (limit 10 working teams) $45 to audit;  Includes lunch;

Checks made payable to PWDsNE
